Player Piano
Player Piano
- 3/4 oz Rhum Agricole
- 3/4 oz Aperol (or Cappellitti!)
- 3/4 Oz St-Germain liquor
- 3/4 Oz lime juice (fresh-squeezed
- 9 drops Tiki bitters
Shaken, up
Notes: I bought a bottle of "Apertivo Cappelletti" awhile ago because the bottle looked cool, and discovered that it was like Aperol, which I already had a bottle of lying around. This prompted me to look for more Aperol-containing cocktails, starting with the Paper Plane, but including ones like this (I finished the Aperol bottle, and have been working on the Cappelletti).
This is the rat-hole of cocktails, though. To help polish off a bottle of something, I need a bottle of St-Germain and some rhum agricole, and some special bitters? Luckily, St-Germain is a trendy ingredient in cocktails lately.
In reality, I have tried this with just aged white rum and some lemon-cardamom bitters that I already have, and it's still quite tasty.
The reference I got this from describes this Player Piano thus:
"Really smooth. The combo mostly brings out the grapefruit from the Aperol with some nice spice from the bitters. St-Germain gives more sweetness than anything else but it's clearly there. Good warm weather Last Word riff. I'll make this one again."
